Wild by Nature Returns for Season 2, Taking Its Exploration of the Human–Nature Connection Around the World

Hosted by Dr. Vian Sharif, the growing international podcast expands with shark ecologist Cristina Zenato, sustainability pioneer Jochen Zeitz, Patrick Odier from Geneva’s Building Bridges conference, and a new slate of global voices.

Wild by Nature Returns for Season 2, Taking Its Exploration of the Human–Nature Connection Around the World
London, United Kingdom, October 01, 2026 --(PR.com)-- Wild by Nature: Stories of Human Connection to the Wild, the video podcast hosted by Dr. Vian Sharif, is returning for an ambitious second season—going deeper into one central question: What can nature teach us about being human?

Following a first season that established Wild by Nature as an emerging international voice in the Nature podcast space, Season 2 expands the show’s storytelling across oceans, forests, wild landscapes and global gathering places, exploring how our relationship with nature shapes fear, resilience, leadership, belonging, silence, purpose and the way we live.

Since its launch, Wild by Nature has built an international audience and charted in the Apple Podcasts Nature category across multiple countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Spain, Finland and Australia.

Season 2 builds on that momentum with a more visual, international and story-driven approach.

“Wild by Nature has always been about more than talking about nature,” said host Dr. Vian Sharif. “It’s about understanding what happens to us when we reconnect with it—how it can change the way we think, lead, heal, relate to one another and understand our place in the world. In Season 2, we’re taking those questions even further.”

From Sharks in The Bahamas to Regeneration in Kenya
Among the voices featured in the new season is renowned shark ecologist and behaviorist Cristina Zenato, whose extraordinary relationship with Caribbean reef sharks in The Bahamas offers a powerful exploration of fear, trust and coexistence.

For more than three decades, Zenato has worked with sharks in the wild, becoming known for removing fishing hooks from sharks that voluntarily approach her. She is also the founder of People of the Water, a nonprofit focused on education, research and conservation.

Her Wild by Nature conversation asks a deceptively simple human question:
What changes when we stop fearing the wild—and begin listening to it?

Season 2 will begin on Thursday, October 1, 2026, when it features Jochen Zeitz, entrepreneur, conservationist and founder of the Zeitz Foundation, in a conversation exploring the relationship between nature, leadership and responsibility.

Zeitz's work helped inspire The Long Run, a global community built around the idea that conservation, community, culture and commerce can work together. Its members now help safeguard more than 23 million acres of ecosystems around the world.

His conversation takes Wild by Nature into another of Season 2's defining questions:
What does nature teach us about how we lead?

Other Season 2 conversations include Leah Rampy, author and advocate for a deeper relationship between people and the living world; Nick Hough-Robbins, exploring how we understand and value nature; and Matt Mikkelsen of Quiet Parks International, examining something increasingly difficult to find in modern life: quiet.
Together, the conversations reflect the new season's editorial focus:

Nature × Human Benefit × Story
Rather than approaching nature only as an environmental subject, Wild by Nature begins with human experience—fear, grief, wonder, leadership, connection, silence and transformation—and follows those questions back into the natural world.

Wild by Nature Goes to Geneva
The show's international expansion will also take Wild by Nature beyond the traditional podcast studio.

On October 8, 2026, Sharif will record special conversations from Building Bridges in Geneva, Switzerland, the international gathering bringing together leaders across finance, business, government and civil society to accelerate solutions to global sustainability challenges.

The seventh edition of Building Bridges takes place October 6–8 at the Centre International de Conférences Genève (CICG).

Among the upcoming Wild by Nature conversations from Geneva is Patrick Odier, Chairman of the Building Bridges Foundation and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Lombard Odier.

The conversation will move beyond markets and finance to examine a larger question at the heart of Wild by Nature: What does stewardship mean—and what responsibility do we have to the natural world we pass to the next generation?

The Geneva recordings represent a broader direction for Wild by Nature: taking the show into the places where consequential conversations about nature, people and the future are already happening.

A Podcast Becoming a Global Storytelling Platform
Launched in 2026, Wild by Nature brings together scientists, explorers, writers, conservationists, entrepreneurs and other changemakers to examine the often-overlooked ways the natural world influences human life.

Season 1 explored subjects including the effects of nature on the brain, childhood and the outdoors, forest connection, belonging, conservation and the ways humans can rebuild their relationship with the wild.

Season 2 broadens that lens.

Alongside its biweekly podcast, Wild by Nature is expanding its emphasis on full-length video, short-form storytelling, international interviews and location-based conversations, creating a growing media platform around stories of human connection to the natural world.

The result is a season built not simply around people who study or protect nature—but around people whose lives have been changed by it.
