Kyeson Blake Utley Launches GhostKey Development, a Texas Firm for Post-Quantum Cryptography and In-House Penetration Testing

Kyeson Blake Utley has launched GhostKey Development, a Texas security engineering firm that helps companies migrate to post-quantum cryptography, build and audit cryptocurrency systems, and run full-scope penetration tests performed entirely in-house. The launch includes a free browser-based passphrase generator and a white paper by Utley on preparing for NIST's 2030 and 2035 post-quantum deadlines.

Austin, TX, October 08, 2026 --(PR.com)-- GhostKey Development Launches to Help Companies Prepare for Post-Quantum Threats and Test Their Defenses In-House

Texas security engineering firm founded by Kyeson Blake Utley focuses on post-quantum cryptography, cryptocurrency engineering and adversary-grade penetration testing.

GhostKey Development, a security engineering firm founded in 2026 by Kyeson Blake Utley, today announced its launch. The firm helps companies migrate to post-quantum cryptography, build and audit cryptocurrency and custody systems, and run full-scope penetration tests performed entirely in-house.

The launch comes as organizations face official deadlines for moving off quantum-vulnerable encryption. A November 2024 NIST draft (NIST IR 8547) proposes deprecating today's widely used public-key algorithms by 2030 and disallowing them by 2035. Security researchers warn that adversaries can already record encrypted traffic and store it until quantum computers can decrypt it, an attack known as "harvest now, decrypt later."

"Most companies still think of post-quantum security as a problem for later, but data encrypted today can be captured today and read later," said Kyeson Blake Utley, founder of GhostKey Development. "We built GhostKey to help teams fix that now, and to attack their systems the way a real adversary would before someone else does."

GhostKey Development's services include:

- Post-quantum migration: cryptographic inventories, prioritization and hybrid deployment of NIST's new ML-KEM standard
- Cryptocurrency engineering: protocol, custody, settlement and smart contract design and audits
- Penetration testing and security audits: web, cloud, network, mobile, smart contract and source-code testing, aligned to PTES, OWASP, MITRE ATT&CK and NIST SP 800-115, with no subcontractors
- Fractional CTO services: senior technical leadership on demand

Alongside the launch, GhostKey has published a free browser-based passphrase generator at ghostkey.dev/passphrase.html, and Utley has released a white paper, "Post-Quantum Migration: A Practical Playbook for Engineering Teams," available at kyesonutley.com.

Before founding GhostKey, Utley founded SpookyGood in 2020, a blockchain forensics firm that traced stolen cryptocurrency for fraud victims. Following SpookyGood's 2024 merger with Justice Solutions Group, he served as JSG's chief technology officer and led development of OnTrial, an AI-assisted investigations platform for attorneys.
