Ohm Spa is a beautiful new day spa in the Flatiron District created by a visionary husband and wife team, Kathy Yan and Jonathan Ho, who are self-proclaimed “spa fanatics.” Ohm Spa is different than the ordinary New York City day spa. Their services are not like the cookie cutter treatments often found on typical spa menus, but are fully customizable depending on each guest’s unique condition. Kat, a licensed physical therapist, designed the massage menu after 7 years of treating patients with a multitude of musculoskeletal conditions. She based each treatment around the guest’s specific condition and created a methodology that allows the therapist to address the appropriate areas of concern with various techniques and modalities.
Skin Therapy using Proven Products and Expert Care
Skin therapy at Ohm revolves around two skincare lines that are renowned for their effectiveness. With Dermalogica they have created a customized facial that leaves the implementation of treatment up to the expertise of the highly skilled skincare therapist, depending on a guest’s history and skincare goals. Ohm Spa also offers specific facials based on skin-type for those who know exactly what they need. Plantogen is another wonderful line imported from New Zealand. Jon and Kat are proud to be one of the first and only spas in the city to use this line that features the remarkable Manuka Honey with its natural antibacterial and hydrating properties. Once again, Ohm has also crafted a customized facial with this line, as well as pre-designed treatments.
Nail Therapy: Not Just Beautifying, but Healing
Nail Therapy at Ohm Spa is also based on customization. By presenting guests with a checklist of à la carte supplements to their ‘Signature’ or ‘Ultimate’ treatments, Ohm Spa allows them to build a personalized therapy for their hands and feet. Furthermore, they made sure that the nail area was well equipped with two large plasma TV’s and a small army of the incredible iJoy Pedicure Massage Chairs…the only ones in the city! These chairs feature the amazing Human Touch Technology, which guests often compare to the feel of an actual massage therapist. Combined with the expertise of Ohm’s nail technicians, their chairs help to create the best pedicure experience in the city.
A Space to Call Your Second Home
This fresh 7th floor hideaway calms stressed nerves as soon as one walks through the large glass doors and enters the charming and elegant space. Citrus infused water and herbal tea is always served along with light snacks. Robes and slippers are provided for one’s lounging comfort, and the staff is always eager to accommodate. One can be sure that a negative attitude will never be found here. Jon and Kat make it a point to create a familial atmosphere where therapists love to practice and where guests always feel welcome.
Ohm Spa Rewards Handsomely
Ohm Spa offers an array of promotions to their loyal clients. Instead of the usual “multiple treatment” packages that most spas offer, Ohm Spa rewards each guest with a $50 gift card after $500 in treatments have been accumulated. There is no time requirement within which to purchase. This eliminates the commitment of purchasing multiple services in advance and doesn’t lock guests into any particular treatment. From Monday through Wednesday they also offer a free signature Ohm Spa manicure with every signature Ohm Spa pedicure purchase!
