Newton, MA, December 01, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Dexrex Gear, a leading information technology platform provider of business data management services for instant message (IM) networks and mobile text (SMS) messages, announced today the formation of its Board of Advisors, a panel comprising six members at the top of their respective industries.

Dexrex Gear’s Advisory Board was established to provide the company with strategic guidance and direction as it continues its rapid expansion into in the enterprise technology marketplace. Each member of the Dexrex Gear Advisory Board plays a critical role in positioning Dexrex Gear for sustained growth and success.

The members of Dexrex Gear’s prestigious Board of Advisors are:

Dr. Eric Burger, Technology Advisor: Dr. Burger is a member of the SIP Forum Board of Directors and Senior Vice President and CTO of NeuStar Inc. Before joining NeuStar Burger was AGM of the Communications Products Division as well as Corporate Deputy CTO of BEA Systems. He has service provider experience from holding senior technology management roles at MCI and Cable & Wireless, as well as holding CTO, Vice President of Engineering, Chief Scientist, and other high-level positions at technology and network equipment vendors including Texas Instruments, Cantata Technology, Brooktrout Technology, and ADC/Centigram. He sits on the Board or Advisory Board for companies such as Sigma Systems, Kanga Networks, Mobera Systems, and AGNITY. Dr. Burger is also the Chair of the IETF mobile e-mail, media control, and speech services work groups. He is the author of numerous SIP standards in the IETF, including a SIMPLE instant messaging standard, and contributed to the VoiceXML and CCXML specifications in the W3C. Dr. Burger holds more than 12 issued patents and has numerous patents pending. He is a Senior Member of the ACM, a Senior Member of the IEEE, a Patron of the AAAS, and a Benefactor of the Internet Society. Dr. Burger has taught at George Mason University and George Washington University and holds degrees from Illinois Institute of Technology, Catholic University of Leuven, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Margaret Sperry, Compliance Advisor: Sperry was Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer for the MassMutual Financial Group (MMFG). From 2000 until her retirement in July 2008, she oversaw ethics and compliance programs in the MMFG's domestic and foreign operations which included insurance, broker-dealer, investment adviser, investment management, mutual fund, trust and employee benefits management companies. Sperry represented MassMutual and related entities in dealings with numerous federal, state, and international regulators, and testified as a witness in various capacities on behalf of the company. She oversaw the development and implementation of compliance programs to meet new legal and regulatory requirements including the USA Patriot Act; emerging federal, state and international privacy laws and regulations; and regulatory required compliance self-assessments. She has managed responses to numerous regulatory examinations and "sweeps." Sperry has extensive knowledge of the wide range of legal and regulatory requirements impacting businesses in the U.S. and abroad. She has served in advisory and director roles with many companies to guide and forecast best practices for meeting regulatory demands.

Jeff Peden, Technology Advisor: Since founding Newbury Networks in 2001, Peden has been instrumental in establishing the company's technical strategy and product positioning, building its core location tracking platform and expanding the company's application and IP portfolios. At Newbury, he has led the effort to establish location as a critical component of wireless networks, and delivered key technical integrations throughout the company's partners and the broader wireless ecosystem. A 10-year veteran of both software- and hardware-focused technology startups, Peden joins the Dexrex Gear Advisory Board with a strong history of transitioning concepts from the research stage to a finished product. Prior to Newbury, he was an engineering lead on the transfer of projects from the R&D group to the product development group at Virtual Ink Corporation. Peden holds a B.S.E in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Andrew Stern, Sustainability Advisor: Stern is founder and Vice President of the grass-roots clean energy group -- Citizen Advocates for Renewable Energy (CARE), a group founded in 1997, Stern has been a leader in the wind power movement in Massachusetts for more than a decade and performs wind power outreach and education with schools and colleges in New England. Most recently, Stern brought his wind and solar photovoltaic power experience and expertise to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and is currently a Teaching Fellow at Harvard University's Environmental Management Program in Cambridge, Mass., Suffolk University in Boston, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, in Worcester, Mass., from where he graduated in 1992 with a degree in electrical engineering. In addition to holding a position as Associate at Maxis Capital as a Clean Energy Expert, Stern is the President of New England Windpower Inc. and is co-founder of Action for Clean Energy Inc., a Massachusetts non-profit focused on helping communities "get green."

Richard K. Post, Operations and Finance Advisor: Post is a graduate of the University of Washington with specialty in Marketing, Finance and Operations. Richard’s professional career has public accounting with Deloitte, Haskins and Sells, specializing emerging business division; ownership of ComputerLand of Seattle, distributing IBM, Compaq and Apple computers; and with Microsoft Corporation as Worldwide Credit Manger, Director for Acquisitions, General Manager of Operations for Europe, Middle East and Africa, General Manager of Worldwide Trade Relations, and General Manager of Operations for MSN and Developing Internet Businesses. In 2004, Richard founded Friends Cara LLC, a private company directing his investments in real estate, private companies, fine art and other forms of asset diversification. Friends Cara LLC holds significant investments in VLM Ltd., an on-demand print company based in Birmingham, UK; DumpTruckers, LLC., a transportation and construction supplier, based in the USA; and Seattle Ski, LLC., a property development company based in Bulgaria. Additionally, Friends Cara LLC trades in fine art, other investment vehicles, and assists early and late stage companies toward achieving their potential. Friends Cara LLC. has relationships with senior business professionals around the world with expertise in technology, management, finance, and sales. These resources provide support to specific projects based on need.

Kwong Chan, Marketing Advisor: Chan, a faculty member at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, develops and applies methods that link customers to new technologies. Kwong, who spent time in Tasmania, advises technology firms in identification of merging market segments in areas including data compliance for messaging services, crowd-sourced opinions and microbial fuel cells. He serves as a reviewer for Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grants and helps coach emerging companies in the Entrepreneurship Initiative at Amherst.

As a group, Dexrex Gear’s Board of Advisors comprises six brilliant minds to steer Dexrex Gear in the right direction as it delivers ChatSync, its first enterprise-focused product to market.

Recently released to general availability, Dexrex Gear ChatSync is a Web-based data management solution for the secure and seamless capture and active archiving of a business’s real-time messaging transmitted from a host of consumer IM and social media services as well as enterprise collaboration platform. Essentially, Dexrex Gear ChatSync works by capturing and offloading text-based messages via an IM client plug--in or proxy deployment into a secure and centralized storage platform within the cloud where it is normalized and archived in a structured database to ensure fast and efficient search and retrieval for compliance, e-discovery and adherence to storage best practices.

Data from a host of consumer IM services, mobile messaging tools and social media sites can be captured, along with enterprise collaboration and unified communications platforms. Dexrex Gear’s multi-tenant architecture allows resellers to set up their own customized and branded solution on Dexrex Gear’s managed platform directly though Dexrex Gear’s data centers.
