Camille’s Launches Go-Green Initiative with Apple iPads
San Francisco, CA, July 29, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Beautiful Brands International has just launched a new Go-Green Initiative with the system-wide rollout of Apple iPads at its new Camille’s Sidewalk Café stores. The iPads are being used in an effort to increase kitchen efficiency and reduce the amount of paper used in the Oklahoma franchise.

“Our new Apple iPads are a terrific way for us to take a proactive approach when it comes to conserving our natural resources,” said David Rutkauskas, Beautiful Brands Founder, President and CEO. “Not only do the iPads increase our efficiency with less paper but we’re also able to vastly improve our service to our customers. This system is an excellent way to accomplish our goals of meeting our guests’ needs together with helping the environment.”

The new Apple iPads are easy to use and require no paper to operate. Instead of taking orders on chemically coated paper, workers can type up the order on the iPad screen for the kitchen to instantly access. As orders are served, they can be deleted from the queue with the simple touch of a screen. Through this new Kitchen Display Technology (KDS by Revel Systems) customers also have the option of getting an emailed receipt instead of a paper version.

“We really try to be innovative and socially conscious at the same time,” said Rutkauskas. “We feel sure this technology will greatly streamline our workflow and service while also doing something incredibly important for the environment.”

A pioneer of the fast-casual industry, Camille’s now has over 84 cafes in 27 states and 10 countries with stores in development and under construction worldwide. Their menu includes wraps, grilled Paninis, deli-style sandwiches, flatbread pizzas, soups, salads, smoothies, desserts, and a selection of coffees and teas. Camille’s morning menu also features a large variety of breakfast wraps, daily fresh-squeezed orange juice, and other delicious breakfast items.

“The way we use technology says something important about who we are as a company,” said Rutkauskas. “We’re using a high tech approach to deliver less waste on our planet. And, that to me is a very good thing.”

BBI was founded under the leadership of David and Camille Rutkauskas and is responsible for the successful launch of over 14 worldwide, franchised brands including Camille’s Sidewalk Café, FreshBerry Frozen Yogurt Cafe, Rex’s Chicken, Caz’s Chowhouse, Dixie Cream Donut Co., CherryBerry Self Serve Yogurt Bar, Top That!
