Westborough, MA, October 11, 2011 --(PR.com
)-- Ameridose, LLC, nationwide provider of sterile admixing services to hospital pharmacies, is proud to announce strong sustainability results for the second and third quarters of 2011. Recycled materials generated from Ameridose facilities were close to half a million pounds for each quarter, with a combined total of 874,327 lbs. Corrugated cardboard was the most significant recycled material with 302,850 lbs, empty glass medical vials contributed 99,730 lbs, and LDPE #4 film amounted to 59,649 lbs.
Additional Ameridose sustainability efforts during the period included a facility-wide energy audit. As a result of the audit findings, Ameridose will install new energy efficient interior and exterior lighting at its facilities. Some of these new lighting units will feature digitally controlled LED lamps and motion sensor-activated high intensity fluorescent fixtures.
As part of its long-term energy program, Ameridose has installed a powerful onsite backup generator for production, giving its hospital clients additional peace of mind. “During the recent Hurricane Irene power outage suffered by millions in the Northeast, Ameridose was able to continue on with production as a result of its generator power which transitioned seamlessly to standby power for the entire facility throughout the storm,” stated Steve Higgins, responsible for Ameridose facility management.
