Presque Isle Downs & Casino Sponsoring $17,200 "Bowling or Bocce" Tourney
Presque Isle Downs and Casino is sponsoring a $17,200 Bocce or Bowling Tournament at Freeway Lanes in Wickliffe on Dec. 10 and 11.
Erie, PA, November 25, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Presque Isle Downs and Casino is sponsoring a $17,200 Bocce Ball or Bowling Tournament at Freeway Lanes in Wickliffe, OH, Dec. 10 and 11. Teams can choose between participating in the Bowling or Bocce tournament or both. The prize money originally slated for $11,100, was upped to $17,200 by Freeway Lanes.
“We are increasing the purse to make the event more exciting for our participants,” said Glenn Gable, Freeway Lanes owner.
The Bocce tournament will be conducted at the newly opened four-court modern Bocce Ball Club located inside the Freeway Lanes bowling facility. This event is the first and largest tournament for bowling/bocce in Northeast, Ohio.
“We are thrilled to sponsor this event,” said Fred Buro, Presque Isle Downs and Casino General Manager. “This is a wonderful opportunity to enhance the great sport of Bocce and Bowling.”
To encourage Bocce Ball tournament participation and help build awareness about the sport, Presque Isle Downs and Casino recently announced that it will sponsor two teams for the event.
15% of the tournament registration fees and all sponsorships sold will be awarded to the Diabetes Partnership of Cleveland.
The general public is welcome to attend. There will be live entertainment, food and beverage specials. Seating capacity is 150 on a first come first serve basis.
Registration for Bocce is $200 per team and for bowling the registration is @$240 per team. Four person teams can register by visiting any Freeway Lanes location or at www.freewaylanes.com. The bowling prize fund is based on 50 teams participating. The Bocce prize fund is based on 32 teams.
