Indianapolis, IN, December 01, 2011 --(PR.com
)-- There’s a new way to go about entrepreneurship and redefine the American Dream, according to Indiana author Erin Albert. She releases a new book, Plan C: The Full-Time Employee and Part-Time Entrepreneur that addresses how to keep the economy moving forward.
“In my last book project, Single. Women. Entrepreneurs., I kept unearthing people with multiple careers—women who had day jobs, entrepreneurial companies on the side, and even non-profit volunteer experiences—all at the same time,” said Albert. “I wanted to explore this phenomenon of multiple careers and a different way of going about entrepreneurship in this project.”
“Plan A is—go to a good school, get an awesome education, get a great professional job—then get laid off. Plan B is—chuck it all and become a full time entrepreneur, work twice as hard for half the money as the day job, then get burned out, quit, and go out of business. Plan C is—why not do both? Why not have a full-time day job that can support your basic needs, and grow an entrepreneurial dream on the side? There’s a fallacy in this country that you have to choose one or the other, and with this project, I’m here to argue that you can do both,” says Albert.
Tony Hsieh, New York Times Best-Selling Author of Delivering Happiness and CEO of Zappos.com reviewed Plan C: “What are you so passionate about that you would be willing to do it for 10 years without ever making a dime? That's what you should do. Plan C gives great examples of how this has been successful for others.”
Keith Crawford, founder of The Loftin Group and co-founder of Omnicademy participated in the project. “Erin Albert has tapped into a powerful and growing phenomenon, one that will redefine how entrepreneurship, and more broadly, how work in general, will evolve over the coming years. For the first time, she has crystallized and enunciated what many of us are feeling.” Albert found that professionals either wanted to stay in their day jobs long term, or exit and pursue the entrepreneurial dream full-time.
Participant and now full-time entrepreneur, Crystal Grave of Snappening, LLC: “What’s great about this project is showing people the freedom to choose Plan C does exist, and that they can develop their dream while ensuring their financial stability. Their network will support them along the journey in ways they may not have dreamed possible. We need more sharp, cutting-edge thinking like this moving into the 21st century here in the United States, and Albert just takes us one step further with her investigative style and fresh approach.”
The book, Plan C: The Full-Time Employee and Part-Time Entrepreneur is now or will be available on most major electronic formats, including Kindle (http://amzn.to/vDDYbb), Nook, Kobo, iTunes Bookstore, and others.
