New Rulemaking Tracker Makes Obamacare Easier to Digest

Patterned after Knowledge Mosaic's popular Dodd-Frank Tracker, the Affordable Care Act Rulemaking Tracker helps those who need to stay abreast of new healthcare rules.

Seattle, WA, May 02, 2012 --(PR.com)-- By now you’ve probably heard of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) or the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010, popularly known as “Obamacare.” Over the last several years, the 961-page piece of legislation has become a lightning rod for political debate to the point that its constitutionality is being argued before the US Supreme Court.

Regardless of how one feels about the law or how the Supreme Court sides on the matter, a few things are certain. The Affordable Care Act’s effects will be broad; its implementation will be complex and costly; and keeping track of the various policy and rule changes at affected government agencies, companies, hospitals, insurance providers, and others will be difficult. Not since the passage of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protect Act has there been such a far reaching and complex piece of legislation.

Enter Knowledge Mosaic Inc. The Seattle-based vendor of legal and federal regulatory information has created a new online tool, the Affordable Care Act Rulemaking Tracker (ACA Tracker). Patterned after their popular Dodd-Frank Rulemaking Tracker and part of their Knowledge Mosaic subscription service, the ACA Tracker allows government, attorneys, professionals at affected companies, lobbyists, journalists, healthcare administrators, and anyone else who may need to stay abreast of new and proposed rules resulting from the Act to make sense of what is going on.

“The ACA Tracker creates a suite of regulatory tracking tools that contribute enormously to our pathbreaking project to map the entire federal regulatory landscape," said Knowledge Mosaic President Peter Schwartz.

The company’s Chief of Technology Clif Swiggett adds, “This tool really expands on the foundation we built with our Dodd-Frank Rulemaking Tracker. I think it demonstrates our unique ability to tackle complex topics and issues and present them in a way that is easy to understand and digest."

The ACA Tracker not only makes rulemaking searchable and sortable, but allows for customized alerting across 23 topics and 28 regulatory and rulemaking entities. The tool is supplemented by over 800 law firm memos discussing the PPACA and HCERA specifically, as well as a broader range of materials from over 35 agencies and rulemaking bodies.
