Naples, FL, June 29, 2012 --(PR.com
)-- Lake Diabetes & Medical Supply ("LDMS") in conjunction with Preferred Travel of Naples, will be sponsoring Diabetes Eeducation onboard the Silversea, "Silver Spirit," to the Caribbean this fall. This will be a unique opportunity to learn how to manage your lifestyle with diabetes from expert certified diabetic educators including special instruction from the culinary experts and fitness team onboard this luxury cruise ship.
Their Diabetes Education Program is recognized by the ADA (American Diabetes Association) and their program has been accredited by the AADE (American Association of Diabetic Educators). This program is all inclusive and will take place while you are "AT SEA" for a few hours each day in order for you to enjoy the many ports and excursions. Chef will show you how to prepare your favorite meals in order to meet your dietary challenges. Wellness classes will allow you to meet your specific goals.
This unique cruise and training experience sails from Fort Lauderdale on November 30th to the Turks and Caicos Islands, St. Barts, St. Kitts and Tortola before returning to Fort Lauderdale on December 10th. As this is an interactive experience LDMS encourages a spouse/friend to attend, as well. Once enrolled LDMS will begin assessing your needs. Topics to be covered by the educator will be nutrition, carb counting, portion size, meal planning, medications, exercise, smoking, alcohol and more. Each patient will meet with the educator the last day 'at sea' to receive their personal plan for the future with additional follow-up 60 to 90 days after their return home.
