YES! Brings Hope to the Runway During Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City

Where fashion and philantropy meet to provide hope for those affected by cancers of the liver.

New York, NY, September 08, 2012 --(PR.com)-- YES! Beat Liver Tumors, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the support of patients diagnosed with primary or metastatic cancers of the liver, announced today a partnership with Plitzs Fashion Marketing that enables the nonprofit to participate in several upcoming fashion weeks across the U.S., including Plitzs New York City Fashion Week “Designer Showcase” during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

“We are so appreciative that Plitzs has given us the opportunity to share our message with the fashion industry,” said Suzanne Lindley, co-founder and executive director of YES! who is living with terminal cancer. “We have had the opportunity to walk the red carpet at Hollywood events, and now look forward to being behind the scenes of the runway in New York and other cities across the country.”

Lindley and YES! will be “Surviving in Fashion” through Plitzs’ exclusive fashion week event at the Warwick Hotel as well as provide materials to each guest in the highly anticipated gift bags during events Friday, Sept. 7 and Saturday, Sept. 8. The "Designer Showcase” is a select venue where fashion and philanthropy meet. As designers broaden their fan base through multi-channel marketing and exposure to retailers, buyers, public and the media there will also be an underlying theme of Hope.

Additionally, fashion designer Dalia MacPhee, who previously outfitted YES! advocates and cancer survivors for Academy Awards and Emmy events, will be featured during the two-day event and is donating a dress to auction on behalf of YES!.

YES! advocates continue to bring awareness about treatment options and support for patients diagnosed with liver tumors through patient-centric and advocacy events throughout the U.S. Suzanne has also been featured as an op-ed contributor in the New York Times and Washington Post voicing her perspective as a patient facing healthcare reform.
