About Ramsay
Ramsay has over 41 years experience in the business of art from creating to marketing. She is President and Chief Executive Officer of In the Black, Inc. which is an international art services corporation which creates corporate commissions. She is a recognized master of the quill and ink medium specializing in precise depictions of world class architecture past and present. She has received numerous awards including a solo show, “Ramsay at the Rotunda Week” at the 100th Congress in Washington, DC; National League of American Pen Women, Special Exhibit Award; Hawaii Visitors Bureau, 2000 Special Award; Mayoral Proclamation, Ramsay’s Day, City and County of Honolulu; Best of Honolulu Award in 2010 and 2011; and named Living Treasure of Hawaii for Outstanding Talent in the Arts. Ramsay has numerous published works and collections including the Hawaii Landmark Collection, Catalogue Raisonne 1951-2011 and the International Directory of Arts. She is affiliated with many prestigious societies in the arts and in Hawaii. Ramsay established and operated Ramsay Galleries for 35 years, providing month long solo shows for more than 200 artists. She formed the Ramsay Foundation to continue discovering, awarding and promoting talented artists through various nonprofit art organizations. Ramsay was born in Kansas and attended the College of Fine Arts, Carnegie Mellon University on full scholarship. Her avocations include acquisition and reclamation of historic structures.
