Soxxy Partners with Bridgeport Rescue Mission to Give Away Thousands of Socks to Homeless in Fairfield County, Connecticut
Bridgeport, CT, December 21, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Soxxy, a compassionate performance-fashion sock company, is partnering with the Bridgeport Rescue Mission to give away thousands of pairs of socks to the homeless.

On Monday, December 21st, Soxxy volunteers (aka Soxperts) served dinner to 100 men, women and children who rely on the Bridgeport Rescue Mission for a warm meal. The Soxperts also delivered #SoxxySouls kits filled with new socks, underwear and T-shirts at the shelter. Soxxy socks will be stocked on the Mobile Kitchen trucks that transport food and essentials to the housing projects. Families struggling to make ends meat will find Soxxy socks stuffed in their Pantry bags, filled with enough food for a family to eat for a week.

“Socks are among the most needed items at homeless shelters, yet the least-often donated,” said Executive Director, Terry Wilcox. “Because of the shortage, the nation’s homeless population is constantly at risk of serious foot disease. What’s unique about Soxxy is that each sock has XO’s on the inside representing hugs and kisses. We appreciate Sarah and her team for sharing their love and support from the inside out.”

As a Fairfield County native, Soxxy founder, Sarah Stabile wanted to make a difference in her community. “The Bridgeport Rescue Mission does amazing work fighting poverty from the inside out,” said Stabile. “I was shocked to learn that 36.7% of children and 16.2% of families in Bridgeport live below the poverty line. Soxxy is in a position to help our neighbors and share the XO spirit.”
