)-- Today, Go Unmanned, a division of Benchmark Tool & Supply Inc, announced they are among the select drone vendors approved to represent the Zenmuse XT camera. The Zenmuse XT combines DJI and FLIR technology, providing high-sensitivity infrared scanning and accurate temperature measurements. According to Go Unmanned’s UAS specialist Tyler Holloway, the enhanced imaging is incomparable to what we’ve seen before. Using the camera’s infrared equipment, you could be in a pitch black room and still capture a clear image of a human. This makes it an extremely useful tool for search and rescue units. It’s also valuable for the inspection of homes, allowing you to see air leakage, heating malfunctions, compromised roofing and much more. Holloway says, “We’re able to take existing platforms and simply add the infrared camera so it’s a much cleaner set up. It’s also a lot lighter and easier to use compared to a custom build.”
Depending on the model of the camera, the Zenmuse XT scans at 640/30 or 336/60 frames per second. There are four lens options available for both camera models. This provides different zoom options and distances reachable. It offers a digital video display of 640 x 512 or 336 x 256, the highest resolution available for its size and type.
Go Unmanned has recognized the growing need for thermal technology. Earlier this month, they completed a demonstration for police and fire officials using a custom built FLIR UAV. The strong feedback from these officials showed the impact this technology can have on their field. From identifying fleeing perpetrators in the dense woods to finding safer routes into burning buildings, this technology is revolutionary.
