)-- Nastasia Bayliss is just 8 years old but that isn't stopping her from putting her name alongside those who play in the biggest games marketplace in the world.
Mobile games are a trillion dollar industry with the Apple store showing statistics of more than 140 billion downloads (and rising!).
Those kind of numbers would seem daunting to most people. But as Nastasia states in her video on her Kickstarter campaign "Dreams can come true!"
Nastasia wrote out her idea for a game a few months ago and with some help from her parents, had it submitted to several agencies who specialise in game development and getting games into the app stores.
The feedback was encouraging, with comments such as "An awesome concept, would make for a very enjoyable game play" and Nastasia wrote emails to see what the next step would be.
While some games can be created and developed cheaply, the level of detail (which was the base for the encouraging comments from early agencies) has priced the development of the game at $10,000.
While Nastasia's parents are more than willing to help their daughters dream of having an iPad game in the app store come true, they said at that level, they simply couldn't afford to fund her game into development.
Enter the crowdfunding platform "Kickstarter"
Encouraged by the early reviews and feedback, Nastasia submitted her project to Kickstarter with the hope of bringing her dream into reality.
"It's everything to me," she says enthusiastically.
And while she is an excellent student, achieving top marks and glowing reports from her teachers, Nastasia knows that she can step forward and compete with sme of the biggest names in the world to get her game listed in the App store.
"But I need your help," Nastasia says on her Kickstarter campaign page.
It seems, with her attitude and drive (and the cute factor) her dream isn't too far out of reach.
