CrossFlow Enables Central New Mexico Community College to Gain Visibility to Its Campus Network, Assuring the Quality of Critical Services

CrossFlow’s Network Performance Manager provides New Mexico’s largest community college with comprehensive visibility to identify and troubleshoot problems faster, preventing abuses of valuable IT resources and enhancing user experience.

Princeton, NJ, February 07, 2018 --(PR.com)-- CrossFlow Software Inc., a leading provider of network, application and business transaction performance management software solutions, announced today that Central New Mexico Community College (CNM), the largest community college in the state of New Mexico, has selected CrossFlow’s Network Performance Manager (NPM) to improve their capability of closely monitoring their campus network traffic, quickly pinpointing root-cause of performance issues, preventing abuses of infrastructure resources, and enhancing end user experiences. With the deployment of NPM, CNM IT staffs can obtain monitoring views for all important links, key devices and core services. This real-time visibility allows CNM to detect and fix problems before they have serious impact on network and application performance, and thus assure the quality of their critical services that are essential to student learning.

CNM’s complex network serves over 30,000 students and 2,000 faculty and staff members on five campuses. With so many users and a lot of them accessing the network from remote locations, assuring network services is a big challenge. CrossFlow NPM’s service-oriented architecture and capability produce reliable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for both network and applications. Timely alerts and intuitive central dashboards help CNM proactively isolate problems and troubleshoot them in the fashion they were unable to do prior to employing CrossFlow NPM. Since the analysis of applications traversing various network components and systems is automated, ongoing monitoring of network traffic becomes much simpler, and thus greatly reduces the resources needed to manage and monitor network and applications services.

“I am really impressed with NPM’s ease of use, considering its enterprise-grade capabilities such as deeper visibility into network service paths and wire data,” says Dr. Ken Cole, Director of Infrastructure Technology at CNM. “By leveraging NPM’s discovery and analysis tools, for example, we can easily differentiate bandwidth hogs from legitimate consumption to enforce service policies and prevent abuses of network resources. NPM not only helps us streamline administrative and operational procedures, but also enhances the quality of our services. In a recent instance, several database servers seem to have too many simultaneous TCP connections. NPM can alert us in real time when the number of connections is beyond baselined threshold.”

“By leveraging CrossFlow’s software, we are able to achieve three key objectives — Assure and secure network services, enhance end user experiences, and lower operational cost,” comments Feng Hou, Chief Information Officer at CNM. “We are looking forward to working closely with CrossFlow to become the leader in higher education in adopting cutting edge technologies to improve IT operations.”

“We are very proud to partner with CNM in the journey to modernize IT operations,” says Dr. Yingchao “Y.Z.” Zhang, Chief Architect at CrossFlow Software. “Our goal is to democratize sophisticated network, application and business transaction performance management in vertical markets such as higher education and public schools with our enterprise-grade yet affordable NPM solution. These types of solutions were only available and affordable to top wall street firms in the past. With online learning and in-classroom interactive instructions based on laptops and tablets, Main Street now needs this type of advanced technologies just as Wall Street. We are on a mission to make this happen.”
