Keeping Vets Safe and Dry with Vital Home Repairs

Join San Diego's Habitat for Humanity on October 12 when it steps in to help an Air Force veteran repair his home with a new roof, carpet and updated plumbing. The non-profit runs its VetRepair program with help from local building companies.

San Diego, CA, October 10, 2018 --( Timothy Neill bought his home soon after serving in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. For 33 years, he maintained the exterior on his own, taking great pride in keeping his residence well maintained. In recent years, however, Neill hasn’t been able to keep up. That’s when Habitat for Humanity stepped in.

On October 12, San Diego Habitat for Humanity is providing home repairs for the Neill family as part of its VetRepair program. Volunteers will support the work led by trained field technicians from Antis Roofing & Waterproofing, who is donating a much-needed new roof for the home.

“We are proud to offer home repair services to veteran homeowners,” says Lori Holt Pfeiler, President/CEO of San Diego Habitat for Humanity. “Through our VetRepair Program, we can give back to the men and women who sacrificed so much for our freedom, and we can make San Diego neighborhoods safer and healthier for local families. We couldn’t do this without the support of community-minded partners like Antis Roofing, and we are truly grateful for their generosity and commitment to our mission of building strength, stability, and self-reliance through improved housing.”
