The Jerry Douglas Band and The Christopher Robin Band at the Ridgefield Playhouse

Ridgefield, CT, July 02, 2008 --(PR.com)-- A key member of Allison Krause + Union Station, guitarist Jerry Douglas is hailed by The New York Times as “dobro’s matchless contemporary master.” Focusing on the dobro, a resonating guitar instrument, the twelve time Grammy Award winner has been named Musician of the Year by The Country Music Association, The Academy of Country Music and The Americana Music Association. Classified as “new-grass,” jazz-grass,” or “progressive country music,” his solo work can be heard on more than 2000 albums including works by James Taylor, Phish, Paul Simon, Ray Charles, Lyle Lovett, the Chieftains and the soundtrack to O Brother, Where Art Thou.

Kicking off the evening will be the Christopher Robin Band. This is the first band to ever receive two standing ovations as an opening act. Heavily influenced by Michael Hedges, Gregg Allman, Wayne Henderson and Garth Webber, brothers Christopher Robin and Trevor Taylor have established a sound all their own. Touted as "a musician's musician," an evening with Christopher Robin is a musical journey through the colorful life of a modern troubadour.
