Hernando County, FL Enhances Public Meeting Process

New York, NY, December 18, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Hernando County Commission and the Clerk of Circuit Court have improved public meeting processes and transparency in government by launching the IQM2 MinuteTraq and MediaTraq software suite. The MinuteTraq application automates the agenda and minutes management aspect of County Commission meetings while the MediaTraq module delivers real-time and on-demand video streaming to the internet for those meetings.

Launching these services has resulted in improved public meeting efficiency that will ultimately lead to cost savings due to the decrease in staff preparation time and elimination of paper. Just as important, the live and on-demand video streaming component has empowered the community to have complete visibility into the public meeting process from the comfort of their own home. Citizens can view entire meetings on their computers or only view the topics of interest to them since the videos are indexed to the agenda. In addition to webstreaming the meetings, other programming on the Hernando County Government Channel is also available on-line. “We are dedicated to enhancing community trust and helping citizens have access to the important topics and decisions being addressed in the county,” says County Administrator David Hamilton. “We are committed to transparency in county government. The IQM2 solution has helped us do that.”

Clerk of Circuit Court Karen Nicolai and her staff took the lead in researching the new technology. “We are excited that we have quickly improved our meeting processes with this new technology. The feedback has been excellent, and we are happy to provide our citizens with the opportunity to be more easily involved with county government,” stated Nicolai.

“Hernando did one of the finest jobs we have seen of evaluating solutions that best suited their needs while also creating an internal consensus structure that resulted in a successful and efficient implementation process. We are thankful Hernando County has allowed IQM2 help them with these critical initiatives and are thrilled we can help the Hernando County community have more visibility into the topics that are important to them” stated Daryl Blowes, IQM2’s CEO.
