Dallas, TX, September 08, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Ahoy Matey! Dallas’ West End is partying Pirate Style on National Talk Like a Pirate Day, September 19, 2009. Party Like a Pirate: Island Party in the West End is a Free block party featuring pirate costumed actors performing impromptu skits and sword fights on the streets of West End, island and beach music, artists and great food. Everyone is invited to dress like a pirate and be a part of the show.

West End’s Market Street (Elm Street to Munger Street) is the site for the West End Association’s 1st Annual Party Like a Pirate: Island Party in the West End, Saturday, September 19, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. Swashbucklers and wenches, palm trees and sand, strolling pirate fiddlers and impromptu sword fights (Argh!), you can even have your special someone locked in stocks & shackles for charity, at the Party Like a Pirate: Island Party in the West End.

Steel drums and beach music are the sounds of the day. Local steel drum band, “Island Boogie Band” (www.myspace.com/islandboogie) headlines the Pirates Cove Stage located at Market Street and Corbin Avenue, along with Zionaura (http://www.myspace.com/zionaura) and other local bands and street entertainers. The family fun area will feature inflatable islands, slides, pirate boat bounce houses, games, balloon artists, face painters and pirate puppeteers.

Party Like a Pirate: Island Party in the West End guests are invited to dress like a pirate and be part of the show. Costume Contest will crown the West End’s first Pirate King and Wench Queen. Take that costume out of the trunk, put on an eye patch and brush up on your, “Aye Aye Captain’s” and “Argh!’s.” Not only come to the party, be part of the party.
