Metro Centre Teams with Local Entrepreneurs to Get Peorians in the LOOP
Peoria, IL, August 31, 2010 --(PR.com)-- For Metro Centre, housing successful locally owned stores for over 31 years just isn’t enough. The Metro Centre team wants to create Peoria’s next great businesses as well. They recently teamed with local entrepreneurs Rich Pestien, owner of Bushwhacker, and Jeff Wolffe, a fitness expert, to create LOOP Cycling Studio, a totally new spin on indoor cycling. LOOP is a full-body workout experience that nourishes the mind, body, and soul.

“We are proud to provide more than just space for local business owners,” said Metro Centre owner Eric Brinker, who is also a partner in LOOP Cycling. “We are a resource and true partners, helping with everything from concept to logo and graphic treatments to staging launch events. We don’t just welcome new tenants, we can actually help create them.”

This spirit of partnership has allowed Metro Centre to thrive even in uncertain economic times. In the past year, Metro Centre has helped launch successful businesses such as Re-, Bags & Company, and Soy Candles by Sharon. And now they’re putting a new spin on fitness with LOOP.

“It has been incredible,” said Jeff Wolffe, LOOP’s Athletic Director. “Six months ago, Eric and I just had an idea and a passion to see it come to fruition. Now, to see it take shape both from a business standpoint and a practical standpoint is amazing. I feel lucky to have found a partner to help make this concept come to life. I couldn’t have done this without the support of Metro Centre.”

LOOP Cycling Studio was conceived around the idea of a total body workout combined with upbeat music, the best equipment, and the shameless pursuit of fun. Frustrated by big box gyms, with their contracts and impersonal service, Brinker and Wolffe set out to create a boutique fitness environment suited for the local market “It’s not your typical group fitness class,” says Rich Pestien. “It’s about working out together, having a good time and, getting yourself in great shape while you’re doing it. Regardless of their current fitness level or experience, we want people to feel welcome in our community.”

Working together is something Metro Centre has become quite good at. With a team of business developers, designers and consultants, they take prospective entrepreneurs through all the steps of building their businesses - from business plan to ribbon cutting.

“Since my grandfather started Metro Centre more than thirty years ago,” Brinker said. “It has been about building Peoria. Keeping things local, creating opportunities right here. Our business development program is a natural extension of that.”

Peorians have depended on Metro Centre for more than 30 years - and counting. The stores are still locally owned and operated, and their success is based on a simple, homegrown recipe: friendly faces behind the registers, a unique selection of stores and a commitment to friendly, personal service.

LOOP Cycling Studio opens September 1st. For schedule, pricing, and to reserve a bike, visit loopcycling.com.
