Melissa Etheridge Talks Spirituality and "Fearless Love" with Elevated Existence Magazine
Elmwood Park, NJ, September 21, 2010 --(PR.com)-- In the September 2010 Issue of Elevated Existence Magazine, an award-winning, digital publication focused on spirituality and self-improvement, singer, songwriter and musician, Melissa Etheridge, talks about her new album “Fearless Love” and her road toward spiritual truth. A breast cancer survivor, Etheridge had an awakening in her 40s, and this new album is the second in a trilogy revealing her life story and spiritual beliefs.

“It was very clear to me that I did not want to ever create anything again that wasn’t from my heart, wasn’t truthful and wasn’t about making the world a better place,” she told Elevated Existence in the cover story. “I didn’t want to put anything out that wasn’t the caliber of creation I think we all can and need to aspire to.”

In a reference to her personal life, and dealing with the stress of the press and publicity, especially negative, Etheridge said "It's about forgiving, and forgiving myself for having the perception that someone had done me wrong."

She also explains how through the law of attraction, she was given the opportunity to work with Al Gore to create the Academy Award-winning song, “I Need to Wake Up” for his documentary “An Inconvenient Truth.”

“When I started reading about the law of attraction, and the movie “The Secret” came out, I saw that everyone was waking up to this at the same time,” she explained in the cover story. “I said, ‘I want to work with people who want to change the world. I want to connect with people who are understanding this on some level, and I want to change the world.’ I also said I wanted to win an Oscar. Two weeks later, Al Gore called.”

The theme for the third album in the trilogy will be oneness and unity, she told Elevated Existence, explaining her goal is for people to gain understanding through the messages in her music, and to come to a place of self-acceptance.

“I want people to realize there is nothing wrong with them, and there is nothing wrong with being different,” she said in the cover story. “We need to celebrate our differences. I want people to feel a sense of journey in my music, and know that wherever they are, if they don’t like it, they can get to a place where they do.”
