DDC Concludes Agreement with TransGuardian to Provide Members with Secure Shipping Services and Credit Risk Insurance
Los Angeles, CA, May 05, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Diamond Dealers Club (DDC) of New York has concluded an agreement with TransGuardian, a high-security shipping and logistics company specializing in the jewelry and gemstone industry, which will result in DDC members being able to ship packages of diamonds and jewelry at preferred rates, using what has been called a Concierge Shipping Service. The agreement, which is designed to complete the DDC’s new secure online trading platform, will include TransGuardian’s organizing a credit risk insurance policy for transactions managed through the DDC’s Bonded Trading System.

According to the agreement, TransGuardian will set up a package drop off and receiving kiosk near the entrance to the DDC trading floor on the 10th floor of the 580 Fifth Ave. Building. DDC members will be able to log in and generate shipping labels with insurance, and there will be daily pickups by the U.S. Postal Service, FedEx and UPS. Shipments will be completed overnight.

Furthermore, the arrangement with TransGuardian is designed to facilitate the movement of diamonds traded both at the DDC in New York and on the DDC’s new online secure trading platform. As part of the agreement, TransGuardian will integrate its multi-carrier shipping software to the DDC website, which will allow for the management of insured shipments to and from web traders, as part of the DDC’s Bonded Trading System. The software includes the largest array of carrier and shipping options ever offered to this industry and a module that allows members to track the movement of packages pro-actively. TransGuardian is a Business Alliance Partner of the US Postal Service.

According to TransGuardian, the DDC Concierge Shipping Service will provide savings of an average of 30 percent or more on insured freight rates worldwide, DDC members will be able to insure shipments for up to $150,000 per package worldwide using TransGuardian’s Wells Fargo Insurance Policy.

TransGuardian will also provide a means of managing return shipments from web traders to the DDC, as well as return shipments between web traders and the Gemological Institute of America, as well as other gem labs. The company will also organize a service by which DDC members can ship goods into the United States from other countries.

As part of the agreement, TransGuardian will assist the DDC in setting up a Patriot Act Compliance Secure Trading Zone. This will include online Restricted Person Screening, by which all transactions occurring within the system will be checked against worldwide governmental anti-money laundering and anti-terrorism check lists.

“This new set of member services is an important step in our program to expand the range of facilities being offered by the DDC to the American diamond and jewelry trades,” said Moshe Mosbacher, DDC president. “With our online trading platform we are enabling members from around the country to trade in diamonds 24 hours a day, and now, with the new shipping service, they will be able complete the transaction, moving the diamonds in a safe and secure manner. At the same time we are adding an important new service to members using our New York trading facilities by adding a fully-fledged shipping center right inside the club.”

“TransGuardian is delighted to be associated with the Diamond Dealers Club,” said Jim Moseley, TransGuardian’s president and CEO. “Our goal is to provide a seamless service, by which DDC members, wherever they are located, can do business with all clients and suppliers, assured that that their transactions are secure and that their goods will arrive safely and on time.”
