MAX's Apprentice Developer program is one of five new products / services being considered as the Best New Product / Service of the year. The program is an innovative approach to bridging the IT skills gap by fulfilling the business community’s need for software developers and the city’s need to transform unemployed or underemployed residents into satisfied, productive, tax-paying citizens by training them to become Software Developers.
The new service being recognized is MAX’s Developer Apprentice program which was launched in the fall of 2012. This is an innovative approach to bridging the IT skills gap by fulfilling the business community’s need for software developers and the city’s need to transform unemployed or underemployed residents into satisfied, productive, tax-paying citizens by training them to become Software Developers.
The MAX Technical Training Developer Apprentice program can handle everything from recruiting, assessing and selecting candidates to training and ultimately placing them into new IT careers. Students in the program are trained to use JAVA, .NET, HTML, CSS, ASP.NET, C# and other specific IT skills in order to increase their marketability. Last year, MAX worked with Great American Insurance Group to successfully train and transition 10 people into JAVA developer roles. This year they trained an additional 11 people into certified .NET developers.

The award ceremony will be held the morning of Thursday, December 5th at the Horseshoe Casino in Cincinnati.
