Ocean Galleries Welcomes Internationally-Acclaimed Artist Aldo Luongo
Stone Harbor, NJ, June 29, 2017 --(PR.com)-- This July, Ocean Galleries in Stone Harbor, NJ will host Aldo Luongo with his “Reflections of Summer” exhibit, an amazing collection of new paintings inspired by an innate love of summer and the seashore. Guests will have the opportunity to meet Aldo Loungo from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Saturday, July 22 and from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, July 23, 2017.

“Reflections of Summer” opens at Ocean Galleries (9618 Third Avenue, Stone Harbor/609.368.7777) on Friday, July 21 and is on display through Wednesday, July 26 with all artwork available for acquisition. Exhibit hours are 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily.

Born in Argentina of Italian heritage, Aldo Luongo graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires. Shortly after graduating, he was recruited by the New York Generals and came to the United States to play professional soccer, one of his two great passions. Aldo was living in New York when an injury cut his athletic career short. Inspired by the city’s many museums and galleries, Luongo decided to follow his dream and pursue his other immense passion - art.

In the 1970s, he had his first major success with multiple reproductions of his black and white drawings. Released to great critical acclaim and garnering huge commercial success, the art put him on the map as a major international artist.

From his acrylics to his fine art prints, all of Aldo Luongo’s pieces embody the same sense of fluidity and intensity, the result of a true artist engaged in the passionate process of creation. His bold, impressionistic style has often been referred to as “Romance on Canvas.” Central to all of Luongo's paintings is the balance between memory and hope, sorrow and humor, freedom and control. These dynamics are clearly apparent in his figurative works, especially those portraying "The Hawk," an archetypal character based on the memory of his father and the discovery of his future self.

“We fell in love with Aldo’s artistic style a few years back when we first saw his paintings. The beauty and intensity of his artwork is truly captivating and echoes the experiences of life lived to the fullest,” said Kim Miller, Ocean Galleries owner. “His newest collection of paintings and sketches is perfect for a summer exhibition at the Jersey Shore, with many of his pieces inspired by Aldo’s love of the ocean and coastal surroundings he has visited throughout his international travels.”

Luongo has continued his reign at the top of the contemporary art world for almost four decades. Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards and honors, including being named a three-time official Olympic Artist (Summer 1988, Summer 1996, Winter 2002); an official World Cup Soccer Artist (1998); an official U.S. Women’s World Cup Artist (1999); and the 1999 Sports Artist of the Year (U.S. Sports Museum). Luongo was also commissioned twice by the White House as an artist for the annual Easter Egg Hunt, painting exquisite eggs that now reside in the Smithsonian Institute.

There will be two opportunities to meet Aldo Loungo at Ocean Galleries in Stone Harbor, NJ during receptions taking place from 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM on Saturday, July 22 and 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday, July 23. All artwork is available for acquisition and will be personally signed by the artist during the receptions. The exhibit and receptions take place at Ocean Galleries (9618 Third Avenue, Stone Harbor, NJ/609.368.7777) from Friday, July 21 through Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
