SNJ Today’s Megan Wolf Awarded ONA Fellowship
Millville, NJ, March 13, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Megan Wolf, Chief Content Officer for SNJ Today, was recently chosen as an inaugural Journalism Mentorship Collaborative Fellow by the Online News Association (ONA), the world’s largest association of digital journalists. She was picked as one of the 16 fellows from an applicant pool of 60. Other fellows chosen include professionals from organizations such as National Public Radio (NPR), Fusion Media Group, and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

With the fellowship, Wolf was awarded up to $5,000 and a year of virtual support to help launch a local mentorship program, as other fellows are doing within their organizations.

“We’ll create an environment where employees, leadership, and outside experts will innovate new ideas in media together through a monthly series of Lunch and Learns,” Wolf said. “We’re doing it to broaden the skill set of every SNJ Today team member.”

Prior to Wolf being named Chief Content Officer she was the News Director of SNJ Today News, which began broadcasting in in the entire Philadelphia region in July 2015, as the first-ever TV newscast focused on the entire southern New Jersey area. In her current position she continues to innovate by incorporating community collaboration with traditional journalism to improve the delivery of local content across digital, radio, print, and television platforms.

“I’m so excited to receive this honor alongside some exceptional journalists,” she said. “I want to use the opportunity to help people throughout our company work collaboratively, and would love to see more women move into leadership positions.”

Wolf will attend ONA’s in-depth fellowship training in St. Louis March 19-20, 2018 and is being considered as a speaker for the ONA18 national convention in September in Austin, Texas.

Since 1999, ONA has been a digital media leader. Its more than 2,250 members are the producers, content editors, news directors, technologists, reporters, bloggers, designers, data analysts, academics, students, and newsroom decision-makers who are creating and refining the digital medium at breakneck speed.
