Revolutionary Lip Peel Unveiled at International Peeling Society’s Annual Educational Session

“Peeling Around the World” to be held on AAD’s Global Education Day.

Rolling Meadows, IL, February 13, 2019 --(PR.com)-- A revolutionary manuscript on an innovative lip peel technique will be presented by Carlos Wambier, MD, PhD, during the International Peeling Society’s (IPS) Peeling Around the World educational session at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. IPS, an organization dedicated to the field of chemical peels, will host its annual course during the American Academy of Dermatology’s (AAD) Global Education Day, February 28, which precedes the AAD Annual Meeting.

Dr. Wambier will discuss how he uses chemical peels to augment patients’ lips without injections at approximately 4:50 p.m. in Room 146A during the hour dedicated to Advanced Chemical Peeling: Deep Chemical Peels.

“While injectable hyaluronic acid fillers are the current standard for lip rejuvenation, it fails to treat deep wrinkles and photodamage,” Dr. Wambier writes. “A formula containing up to 1.6 percent Croton oil in 35 percent phenol is applied with a moist cotton tipped applicator over the entire vermilion surface: from the border to the wet-dry line.”

This low-cost, non-invasive procedure can be performed in approximately four minutes and provides patients with long-lasting, fuller and enhanced rejuvenated lips for over two years. During the treatment, patients will typically feel a numbing sensation, and after 20 minutes a mild burning sensation develops, which subsides in a few hours.

The Lip Peel abstract was co-authored by Ideli C. Neitzke, MD; Kachiu C. Lee, MD, MPH; Seaver L. Soon, MD; Peter P. Rullan, MD; Marina Landau, MD; João Carlos L. Simão, MD, PhD; J. Barton Sterling, MD; and Harold J. Brody, MD. It has been accepted for publication in the "Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology" and was published on jaad.org June 21, 2018.

Dr. Wambier will also present the material during AAD’s Annual Meeting, March 4 at 10:35 a.m. during course F116: Superficial, Medium and Deep Chemical Peeling and Relevance in 2019 in Room 146C.
