“We expect between 750-1,000 attendees from over 30 countries,” reports Renee-Marie Stephano, the association’s Chief Operating Officer and editor of the Medical Tourism Magazine.

The medical tourism convention will feature over 40 expert speakers, from CEOs of top international hospitals to CEOs of top US Healthcare consulting firms and insurance companies. The keynote speaker is the buyer of healthcare for one of the largest US and International Employers in the world. He is a firm believer that Medical Tourism is a solution for large US employers and a partial solution for the US healthcare crisis. The keynote speaker will be conducting a marketing session explaining the US healthcare crisis and how international hospitals can approach and win the business of large US employers and insurance companies. He will also address issues and concerns that US employers have of medical tourism and how to overcome those fears.

Some of the key attendees will be top US health insurance carriers, top US healthcare executives, self funded employers, TPA's and insurance agents. Also, attending will be medical tourism companies and insurance companies from North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. The convention expects dignitaries from many countries including Ministries of Health and Tourism.

The World Medical Tourism and Global Health Congress will focus on private one-on-one networking sessions, plus scheduled business to business meetings between US healthcare providers and international hospitals, with a heavy focus on creating business relationships. This event will solely focus on medical travel and global healthcare. The convention is being sponsored by multiple governments including the Korean Government. “The Korean Council for Overseas Medicine is the Platinum Sponsor and the premier sponsor of this event,” stated Jonathan Edelheit, President of the Medical Tourism Association. Five other countries are in the process of finalizing their sponsorship arrangements.

“We will provide free attendance to US and International Media and Press and coordinate private interviews with the experts and leaders in Medical Tourism,” says Edelheit.

The World Medical Tourism and Global Health Congress will feature topics such as how to integrate Medical Tourism into a US or International Health plan, the legal aspects of medical tourism and the quality of care available overseas.

The convention will also be the location of the Medical Tourism Association’s annual membership meeting and annual elections.

Some of the largest employers and insurance companies in America will be in attendance to learn more about medical travel and to find overseas hospitals and solutions providers to partner with. This is the one event you cannot afford to miss.
