Legendary All-Star Game Inaugurates Bradford High’s New TigerTurf
Austin, TX, September 23, 2008 --(PR.com)-- At Pennsylvania’s Bradford High School it’s in with the new carpet – state-of-the-art TigerTurf – and out with the old sod…in time to host the Big 30 Don Raabe Charities Classic All-Star Game.

The legendary rivalry between Pennsylvania and New York was the first high profile event held on the new synthetic field system, chosen by the school for its “quality, value and warranty,” said Bradford High athletic director Tim Walter.

“We saw another TigerTurf system and were impressed with it,” said Walter. “It was the right choice for us; it looks great, the athletes love it – the surface, the speed, the general feel of it.”

Walter added that the school was equally impressed with Sports Construction Group (SCG) and their commitment to a quality, timely installation. “We would work with SCG again – they were a great crew, very professional.”

Sandra Romanowski, Superintendent of Bradford Area Schools, echoed Walter’s sentiments: “We were very pleased with the construction phase. We could not have been more pleased with SCG’s people – they were very responsible, very accountable. They did whatever it took to get the job done. It was done when they said it would be done. We couldn’t ask for anything more.”

Construction on Bradford High’s Parkway Field, located in Bradford (North Central Pennsylvania), took place in summer, 2008. SCG was responsible for removing the grass, building a sub-base and installing the TigerTurf, which was manufactured in the U.S. by global synthetic turf manufacturer TigerTurf.

Completed on July 28, the field hosted the Big 30 Don Raabe Charities Classic All-Star Game August 2. Pennsylvania dominated New York 27-0 in the 35th annual contest, which showcased graduated high school seniors from 15 Pennsylvania schools and 16 in New York.

Since then the system has been widely used to support a myriad of sports and activities at Bradford High, including football, soccer and band, noted Walter.
