Metropolitan Shuttle® Wins G20 Contract in Washington, DC
Washington, DC, November 28, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Metropolitan Shuttle®, the leading source for nationwide bus charter rental services, was awarded a contract by the U.S. Department of State to provide an excess of thirty charter buses transporting close to 1,500 members of the national and international media on Saturday, November 15, 2008 for coverage of the G-20 financial summit. Leaders of the twenty largest economies of the world convened in Washington, DC in an attempt to stem the financial and economic crisis which has now enveloped the world.

Billed as a new Bretton Woods, this past weekend’s financial summit included representatives from the twenty most financially powerful countries in the world. Participating countries included: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, UK, USA and European Union. Naturally, media from all of these countries, as well as from many other countries the world over, attended and reported.

Metropolitan Shuttle®, recently awarded a GSA contract on Schedule 411-1 for supply of charter bus rental services for the federal government, has vast experience in transportation and logistics of large groups of people. When the world-renowned philanthropist and spiritual leader, Aga Khan, came to visit the United States in April, 2008, Metropolitan Shuttle® was contracted to transport tens of thousands of people for ceremonies and various other activities.

“When the Department tasked your company to come up with drivers, vans & buses to support the G20 summit on such short notice, you not only met that challenge, but were resourceful in getting us photos and bio data needed to meet the security requirements. (We have a total of 44 drivers) with only 8 DOS drivers as well as all the vehicles needed – this is indeed an accomplishment!” so said Ms. Gina Pinzino, a State Department representative.

Bruce Forchheimer, a former Cato Travel and Carlson Wagonlit employee and now an Account Executive at Metropolitan Shuttle®, led this project for Metropolitan Shuttle® and believes the summit was a huge success. “Any little bit that we can do to help stimulate the economy - bringing the powers that be around the world together can only help,” said Mr. Forchheimer.
