Samson Carts® Introduces First Green Dolly

New Dolly Could Save 175,000 Trees and Reduce CO2 by 61,764 Tons per Year.

Samson Carts® Introduces First Green Dolly
Chicago, IL, December 01, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Samson Carts® introduced the first, fully recyclable Dolly at the International Facilities Management Association (IFMA) World Workplace 2008 Conference & Expo in Dallas, Texas last month.

Annually, over three million wooden dollies are purchased in the U.S. at loss of over 175,000 trees. The loss of 175,000 trees keeps an additional 61,764 tons of CO2 in the atmosphere. A shift in purchase to the recyclable, environmentally friendly Samson Dollies® would help remove this dangerous gas from the atmosphere. In addition, Samson Dollies® have a life span 15+ years, or eight to ten times that of the wooden dolly.

The Samson Dolly, using the identical technology of the environmentally, award winning Samson Cart, addresses design criteria not previously considered in other dollies currently on the market:

· Designed for the Environment (DfE), a recognized sustainable and environmental design quality to reduce waste and negative environmental impact.

· Modular design to enable easy replacement of broken components, Designed for Disassembly (DfD). If a part is damaged, it can be replaced quickly without glues or paint. Damaged parts (components), made of environmentally friendly engineered polymers, can be easily recycled into other products.

· Comparable weight and configuration design to emulate currently acceptable industry equipment weights. The Samson Dolly weighs approximately 65% of the standard wooden dollies.

· Designed to meet the moving industry standards, specifically stacking, strength, wheel placement and balance. The structural integrity and “true” or “square” frame is enhanced by the patent-pending product design.

· The manufacturing process is an environmentally friendly alternative to offshore deforestation and manufacturing. Utilizing natural gas, the plastic manufacturing process is so energy efficient that it actually uses less fossil fuel per pound and emits significantly less airborne pollutants than hardwood dolly production. Samson Dollies also saves our planet from emissions when considering landfill gas emissions and reduced carbon absorption.

· Samson Carts® was recognized by the EPA for agreeing to purchase more than 220,000 kilowatt hours of green electric power annually – more than 50% of the organizations electric use.

Samson’s environmental product design intent has validated by the recent passing of a 3rd party testing lab for low-emitting products and Samson Carts’ current listing on the GREENGUARD low-emitting website by becoming the first plastic material handling product to be “Green” certified by an independent environmental design organization, MBDC. Samson Carts received the MBDC Gold Level Cradle to Cradle Certification only after a rigorous evaluation process that considers material safety and reusability, water and energy consumption, pollution and social equity.
