New Two Way Radio and Accessories Recycling Program

Radio Express announces the first national two way radio and accessories recycling program.

Naples, FL, April 29, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Radio Express, a leading provider of two way radio and two way radio equipment announces the first “National Two Way Radio and Accessories Recycling Program.”

“Our “Two Way Radio and Accessories Recycling Program” will provide companies that use two way radios a practical way to recycle their used batteries and radios that no longer work,” said Manzie R. Lawfer, President of Radio Express.

Two way radios are a more than $6 billion dollar business that literally produces tons of recyclable materials every year. Factories, schools, retail stores and government at all levels use two way radios for their reliability, simplicity and affordability. Batteries for these devices have a life expectancy of 1 - 4 years. The radios themselves typically are in service for 5 - 7 years. In the past two way radio users disposed of used radios and batteries through conventional dumpsters and trash receptacles. The high content of non bio degradable components makes this practice unacceptable.

“When radio users (even radio users that did not purchase equipment from Radio Express) call to be enrolled in our Two Way Radio and Accessories Recycling Program we send them a collection box. They can store used batteries and non functioning radios in the box and when it is full send the spent equipment to our location in Florida. When possible we repair non working radios and donate them to charities that have need for them. The batteries and other equipment are sent to specific recyclers that are specially equipped,” continues Lawfer. “The two way radio recycling program is the first nationwide program of its kind.”

“The cars we drive, the products we sell, the products we use and even our business model impacts the planet. Radio Express is dedicated to selling the most environmentally friendly products. Where feasible we recycle. We always pay for shipping but we think it is important to go a step further by shipping from central locations to reduce the carbon footprint on every order. The Two Way Radio and Accessories Recycling Program is another way to improve our citizenship,” Lawfer said.

Commercial radio users can contact Radio Express at 239-465-4290 for enrollment in this free program.

Businesses, schools and government agencies rely on Radio Express for reliable, simple and affordable two way radios with complete one on one customer service.
