Obesity-related diseases cost this nation anywhere from $86 billion to $147 billion per year. Enter Operation Fitness. Operation Fitness is a health organization that was created in 1985. It was designed to teach people of all ages how to properly exercise and eat right, culminating in a healthier lifestyle. The ceremony will be held in the Los Angeles City Council Chambers, Room 340 in City Hall downtown at *200 N. Spring Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012*. During this presentation, Council President Garcetti will speak, followed by comments from Operation Fitness founder and president, Michael Torchia.
Operation Fitness will be hosting a free health and family fitness expo this Saturday August 1, 2009 from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. This event will happen at Westwood Park, 1350 South Sepulveda Boulevard, Los Angeles. Free fitness forums, classes, and health product giveaways will be featured at this event that is co-sponsored by Wholefoods, Smartwater, Gold's Gym, Equinox, American Diabetes Association, MS Society, American Red Cross and over 60 other participating sponsors.
