Government of Tunisia Hires Boutique Washington D.C. Firm for Global Promotional Campaign
Washington, DC, May 17, 2010 --( Since winning independence 50 years ago, the country of Tunisia has emerged as an international business success story -- albeit one of the lesser known successes in the developing world. Tunisia has quadrupled its gross domestic product (GDP) while raising life expectancies in the country on par with the developed world. In the 1990s, the small North African country of 10 million smartly partnered with the European Union and locked in private sector development and trade reforms. The last decade has witnessed a doubling of Tunisian exports abroad and an unprecedented rebuilding of the local economy.

"Tunisia is a peaceful, Islamic country and an important ally of the United States in combating global terrorism. It has a terrific story to share with the world,” said John Leary, Washington Media Group partner and executive vice president. “Tunisia is also a stable democracy where American and European businesses can thrive. This is an important message for the international community and WMG has developed a number of innovative strategies to help ensure that message resonates with the appropriate audiences."

The Government of Tunisia hired Washington Media Group because of WMG’s winning track record of providing smart strategic and creative counsel including: messaging, innovative web site development, leveraging social media (such as Facebook and Twitter), and designing and placing advertising that delivers a return on its clients' investment. WMG will now be the Agency of Record in the United States for the Government of Tunisia.

"We are delighted with this project," said Gregory Vistica, founder and president of Washington Media Group. "It involves strategic and global communication planning, as well as a comprehensive education campaign about the country, its culture, its government and its commitment to businesses competing in the global marketplace."

The Tunisian Government's selection of Washington Media Group highlights the firm’s demonstrated successes on behalf of clients small and large. With a client roster that includes financial services companies like Citigroup, to respected educational institutions such as Columbia University, among others, the firm’s specialty is combining traditional communication approaches with the most innovative uses of online advocacy and advertising.
