TransGuardian Averts a $29,000 Loss on a Parcel from Central America
Los Angeles, CA, August 11, 2010 --(PR.com)-- TransGuardian’s tracking system is unique and proprietary. It detects exceptions proactively in a way that no other system does. This enables TransGuardian staff to identify emerging threats to high-value goods in transit and address them assertively and early.

“I was tracking exceptions on our tracer,” said TransGuardian’s Maria Rolon, “and discovered an issue with a $29,000 parcel incoming from Central America. I noticed the potential issue an hour before the expected delivery and before either the shipper or the recipient was aware of a problem.”

Ms. Rolon contacted TransGuardian’s and the carrier’s security departments. She arranged an appointment for the recipient and security personnel from both companies to inspect parcel contents in a private room under TransGuardian’s video camera.

“The key was our turtle, or security packaging,” said Jim Moseley, President of TransGuardian. “While the express box was battered and opened, the turtle was intact. Our client was able to verify that all contents had been left inside. That wouldn’t have been likely with a softer target.”

“I know it was covered by TransGuardian’s insurance,” said the recipient, “but it always feel better to avoid a loss. TransGuardian’s staff gave us the heads up, met us at the carrier premises, came back to our office, and walked us every step of the way through verifying that our goods were intact. That’s peace of mind.”

To protect future shipments, further details of this incident have been withheld, but the point remains: TransGuardian’s risk management protocols have averted $195,700 in small parcel losses in the last 30 days alone.

TransGuardian (www.transguardian.com) was founded in 2005 and has offices in Los Angeles and San Marino, California. Wells Fargo Insurance services arranges its transit insurance policy covering up to $150,000 per parcel via FedEx (www.fedex.com), UPS (www.ups.com), the USPS (www.usps.com) or OnTrac (www.ontrac.com).
