Casa Laguna Inn & Spa in Laguna Beach Gold Sponsor of Orange County Ride for Aids

Laguna Beach, CA, August 18, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Casa Laguna Inn and Spa recently announced that they are the Gold Sponsor of the inaugural Orange County Ride for Aids, to be held Saturday, October 9, 2010. Funds generated by sponsorships and donations to the OC Ride for Aids go to help the AIDS Services Foundation Orange County provide services to the thousands of men, women, and children in Orange County affected by HIV/AIDS.

The ride will start and end at the Saddleback College campus in Mission Viejo, located off of the I-5 Freeway at 28000 Marguerite Parkway. The ride is open to cyclists of all levels and offers both Century (100 miles) and Metric Century (62 miles) routes.

Casa Laguna is looking for five volunteers to make to make up their five-cyclist team. These riders will be given front-of-the-pack priority on the day of the ride, and they may choose either the long or short route. The ride will be fully supported with rest stops and a lunch break. Both medical staff and bike mechanics will be available along the route.

The OC Ride for Aids starts in Mission Viejo, then travels through south Santiago Canyon, Tustin, Irvine, the Newport Beach Back Bay, Corona del Mar, Laguna Beach, and Dana Point, before returning Saddleback College in Mission Viejo.

The mission of AIDS Services Foundation (ASF) is to prevent the spread of HIV and improve the lives of the men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS in Orange County.

The agency was founded in the late summer of 1985 by a small group of volunteers because people were dying, had nowhere to turn, and desperately needed help. ASF is now the largest and most comprehensive nonprofit HIV/AIDS service provider in Orange County.

Each year ASF helps more than 1,600 men, women and children, along with their families, that are living with HIV or impacted by HIV disease. Services include food, transportation, housing, case management, emergency financial assistance, children and family programs, Latino outreach programs, mental health counseling, support groups, HIV testing, and an extensive array of HIV prevention and education programs.

Casa Laguna Inn & Spa has been a long-time supporter of the ASF and its programs and fundraisers. Built in the 1920’s as a private residence, Casa Laguna would later become an artist colony, then a motel, before being transformed into a 22-room bed & breakfast inn by Orange County businessmen Francois Leclair and Paul Blank in 2000. Leclair became sole owner in 2009. Long-time hospitality management professional Kathryn Mace has been General Manager since 2006.

Casa Laguna Inn and Spa is located at 2510 South Coast Highway, about a quarter mile north of the Montage Resort in Laguna Beach.
