BESI Offers Quality Instruction & Training for Defective (Chinese) Drywall Inspectors, Consultants, and Remediators
Gainesville, FL, September 23, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Building Envelope Science Institute (BESI) has understood from its conception that standardization of inspection and remediation protocols are essential to provide a viable solution for inspection and remediation of structures with defective (Chinese) drywall.

The Building Envelope Science Institute (BESI) is holding its First Annual Conference, Training Seminar & Exhibition for Defective (Chinese) Drywall Inspection and Remediation. This special event will be held on October 24-27, 2010 at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina located at 1881 SE 17th Street Causeway in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The exhibition area will be open during for three days during the conference program. The following exhibitors are participating: Oxford Instruments, U S Building Consultants, NanoScale Corporation, Drywall Science, and National Construction Warranty Corporation.

This certification program offered through the Institute (BESI) instructs and trains licensed and approved state contractors or builders in the remediation of defective (corrosive) drywall. This program provides quality education and training to experienced, qualified individuals; conveying the knowledge and skills essential for performing inspections and remediation on structures containing defective (Chinese) drywall. For more information on the prerequisites required to be certified, frequently asked questions, and conference details visit the institute's website. The protocol presented by the BESI was developed to help owners, insurance companies, investors, financial institutes, and builders recover from the stigma of having defective (corrosive) drywall.

During the last year, Building Envelope Science Institute (BESI) has provided the most comprehensive instruction and training for inspection and remediation of structures with Defective (Chinese) Drywall. The two-day training program does offer information pertaining to other remediation methods that are available. However, since these other methods have not required this level of training nor have they offered third-party quality control, certification is offered solely for the BESI endorsed protocol. There are several articles and documents located on the Institute’s website that help explain the protocol.

The Institute will be conducting certification on a newly completed program designed for the X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) Analyzer (XRF-GP). This course provides valuable information and techniques for the use of XRF as it pertains to Gypsum products. For more information, please visit the Institute’s website.
