IEEE CCNC 2012 to Highlight Latest Entertainment & Consumer Communications Technologies in Las Vegas from January 14 - 17

Leading International Forum to Host Hundreds of Presentations Designed to Drive the Advance of Global Home Networking & On-Demand Information Services

New York, NY, October 19, 2011 --( The IEEE Consumer Communications Networking Conference (CCNC) will dedicate its 9th annual event to be held at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, Nevada from January 14 – 17, 2012 to the latest entertainment and consumer technologies driving the advance of on-demand anytime, anywhere global home networking and information solutions.

Held immediately after the 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), IEEE CCNC 2012 will host nearly 400 keynotes, panels, workshops, tutorials and special sessions focused on technological areas ranging from cognitive and peer-to-peer networking to the designer services and tools currently fostering a new generation of easy-to-use, secure and stunningly interactive communications. In fact, a preview of this year’s innovative demonstrations will be showcased throughout CES at booth #353071 located at the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Further IEEE CCNC 2012 highlights will also include the addresses of leading international experts such as Chang Yeong Kim, the Senior Vice President, Samsung Fellow, and Director of the Future IT Research Center at Samsung Electronics, Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology.

Beginning on Saturday January 14, IEEE CCNC 2012 will commence its annual educational schedule with a full day of workshops highlighting “Consumer, eHealth Platforms, Services and Applications,” “Digital Entertainment, Networked Virtual Environments and Creative Technology,” Digital Rights Management Impact on Consumer Communications,” Future Multimedia Networking,” “Multimedia Communications over Emerging Networks,” “Densely Connected Networks,” “Social Networks and TV Toward Connected & Social Experiences” and “Personalized Networks.”

For the next two days, Sunday through Monday, the forum will then proceed with hundreds of technical presentations and demonstrations exploring wireless consumer communications networking, smart space and personal area networking, peer-to-peer content distribution, multimedia entertainment networking services, emerging consumer technologies and applications, and security and content protection. In addition, a full array of high-level executive business panels and special sessions will also cover the newest developments and research in areas such as affective consumer electronics computing, ecological and smart home networking, vehicular network information dissemination, 3D communications networking, smart grid communications and smart metering, automotive networking, next generation IPTV and social metering personal broadcasting.

On Tuesday, January 17 the conference’s four-day program will conclude with six half-day tutorials that will focus on the “Evolution of Service Control Mechanisms in Next-Generation-Networks Towards Future Internet,” “File Sharing to Resource Sharing – Evolution of P2P Networking,” “High-Speed at High-Speed,” “Smart Grid Communications: Research Challenges & Opportunities,” “Inter-Vehicular Communication,” “Towards Holistic Green Communications & Networking” and “Cognitive Radio, Software Defined Radio & Adaptation of Wireless Mobile Radio Systems.”
