Boston, MA, October 20, 2011 --(PR.com
)-- TeleType continues to expand its WorldNav navigation product line to offer a new add-on map package for the Middle East. The new maps support civilian and military navigation needs with familiar, robust, U.S. based software.
The new package provides users with highway maps for Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Yemen. Products using the Middle East map package are able to locate your position and offer highway routing instructions to and from major cities and towns.
This is the first U.S. made software that allows point to point navigation using streets and major highways throughout the Middle East.
Featuring the same WorldNav software with SmartSearch (TM) technology and Auto Complete lookup functions making it simple to find city names by entering just the first few letters, the system responds with choices. The Middle East add on maps can be used to route in real time or off line. An unlimited number of user defined waypoints can be stored.
Established in 1981, TeleType has emerged to become a leader in the field of Global Positioning Systems. TeleType specializes in user-friendly commercial GPS software navigation and offers advanced developer tools such as Software Development Kits (SDK) which offer APIs to developers wishing to have their programs interact directly with the TeleType WorldNav navigation program for WinCE-based portable navigation devices. It also gives third party developers the ability to convert maps into the TeleType WorldNav format as well as tools to interact with the navigation engine of the WorldNav navigation software. The waypoint converter is included in the SDK, as well as tools for converting maps from the popular ESRI shape file format to the TeleType Map (TTM) format.
The add on maps can be purchased individually (Part #4301, $129 MSRP) or as a package (Part #4302, $395). Discounted pricing is available under the GSA contract.
Software can be used with TeleType Co. GSA approved devices such as the WorldNav 4300 Premium (Mfr part number 430024).
