)-- Lake Erie Ultimate Angler and Presque Isle Downs & Casino are sponsoring a photo and video fishing contest featuring cash and prizes totaling $1750, guided fishing tours, Orvis Fly Fishing equipment and an oil painting reproduction of the winning photo. Each contestant will also receive $10 in free play for Presque Isle Downs and Casino, a 25% off certificate for the award-winning Sensory 3 Restaurant & Lounge and a half dozen flies compliments of Lake Erie Ultimate Angler.
“We are excited to be sponsoring this event with Lake Erie Ultimate Angler,” said Fred Buro, Presque Isle Downs and Casino President. “We think this is a unique and exciting way to get involved with the local community.”
The photo and film fishing contest is not limited to fly fisherman. Any type of fisherman who captures a great photo or video of their fishing experience is eligible within the tri-state area of Pennsylvania, Ohio and New York. “Anything with fins that swims qualifies,” said Buro. “We want to encourage all types of outdoor enthusiast to participate.”
All contestants are encouraged to attend an awards banquet January 17, 2012 at 7 p.m. in Sensory 3 in Presque Isle Downs and Casino. Registration is $30 and will feature a multi-media presentation of all the videos and photos submitted. There will also be a special presentation of the award-winning photos and film which will be hosted by professional fishing photographer Jack Hanrahan. All participants will be entitled to a specially prepared dinner and two complimentary beverages plus a surprise gift from the casino.
