Presque Isle Downs & Casino to Host NFL Draft Night with Fox Sports Radio (1330 AM)

Erie, PA, April 26, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Presque Isle Downs & Casino will host NFL Draft Night with Fox Sports Radio from 7-10 pm. this Thursday, April 26, in conjunction with Erie Beer.

Featured guests include NFL prospect Randy Colling, Mercyhurst Head Football Coach Marty Schaetzele, Gannon University Athletic Director Mark Richard, WICU TV Sports Director Mike Ruzzi and former LSU recruiting coordinator Bill Alias.

Colling is a 2011 Gannon University defensive standout who garnered All-America honors after an all-state career at Pioneer High School in Arcade, NY.

Colling is considered a potential pro prospect. He posted nine sacks and 211/2 tackles for a loss this past season. Colling will go down as one of the best defensive linemen in school history. He concluded his collegiate career as the all-time second leading player in career sacks (25) and 12th in tackles (220). His 48 career tackles for a loss were 6.5 shy of the school record.

Some online draft sites have Colling ranked as high as 46th at his position. If Colling were to be drafted, he could be the first player from the Erie area to play in the NFL in decades.

Colling was named to six different elite teams in his final season at Gannon. In addition to being named to the Beyond Sports College Network (BSN) All-America first team, he was also named to the Associated Press Little All-America team, the Daktronics All-America, the D2proday.com All-America second team, the D2Football.com All-America first team and the Don Hansen All-America honorable-mention squad.

Colling is the first Gannon football player since 1949 to be named an Associated Press Little All-American.

“It is exciting that we may have a future NFL player here at the casino that could go in the first few rounds,” said Presque Isle Downs VP and General Manager Mike Tamburelli. “We expect this event to be a lot of fun for everyone.”

The NFL Draft Night will be held in the casino Clubhouse. The general public is welcome to attend.

Fox Sports Radio will be giving out Pittsburgh Pirate and Erie Seawolf tickets to people answering sports trivia questions.
