Final Version of WinRAR 5.10 Ready for Download

The latest WinRAR release features several extraction improvements which make the software even more user-friendly and compatible with the most common archive types.

Berlin, Germany, June 13, 2014 --(PR.com)-- win.rar GmbH and RARLAB.com proudly present the final version of WinRAR 5.10. Starting today, the world’s leading compression program is now even more advanced and has implemented further innovations in usability of WinRAR and compatibility with most common archiving formats. User interface has been improved and shows up with better quality in high DPI display mode.

Improved extraction support:
They are pleased to announce that they have added now - as many users have requested such feature - the extraction support for ZIP and ZIPX archives using BZIP2, LZMA and PPMd compression. Furthermore also extraction support for 7z split archives has been included to be as user-friendly as possible and to provide a wide coverage of the most important archiving formats.

Performance improvements:
With WinRAR 5.10 support for AES-NI CPU instructions has been added. Thus improvements of RAR encryption and decryption performance can be realized while using the software.

User interface:
Keeping the general WinRAR appearance gives the user the familiarity they have come to expect over the last two decades. With version 5.10 images of default theme icons are scaled up with better quality in high DPI display mode. "What's going on behind the scenes has changed substantially since the first days of Windows and we have always thought the inner values are more important than a flashy user interface changing with each new version available. While people used to tell us constantly that we should change the GUI since we started, today we get compliments for not having done so. It is very rewarding to see that WinRAR and RAR compression have become a standard within the industry in many ways," says Burak Canboy CEO of win.rar GmbH.

WinRAR’s compression speed in Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 and on any multi-core-system has been increased considerably.
