Texas Self Storage Association Tops Previous Donation to Hospital in Galveston Total Funds Donated To-Date Exceed $616,000
Round Rock, TX, January 30, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Texas Self Storage Association (TSSA) donated $112,818 at the end of 2014 to the Shriners Children’s Hospital in Galveston. This Association has raised funds through various events held during their annual conference for the past 14 years. The amount donated to-date exceeds $616,000. The group received a special award from the hospital’s board in recognition of their long standing support.

A group representing TSSA visited with the hospital’s Board of Governors in Galveston on January 26, 2015. TSSA Fundraising Committee Co-Chairs David Hunt and Doug Hunt provided an overview of TSSA’s fundraising projects and explained the Starfish: Make a Difference Campaign which allows members to solicit donations and increase awareness among their customer base.

Also attending the presentation were Amy Nolan, President of the TSSA Board; Paul Glover, Vice President; Mark Skeans, Past President of the TSSA Board; Larry Easley, Storage Management Group; Megan and Cody Fuentes, Daughtry Properties; Donna Hunt, Access Self Storage; Trena Hunt, OMC Gate Service. The group was treated to a private guided tour including various areas of the hospital and meeting some of the dedicated staff.

These supporters of the Hospital view the tour and presentation as a privilege and an inspiration to continue with the fundraising for another year. Fundraising Co-Chair David Hunt stated, “Each year that we’re able to tour the hospital, gives us an insight into the work done at the hospital, and it is absolutely amazing. The advancements in the technology is an eye-opener but the best part is seeing up-close the dedication of the caregivers to the patients. It’s a phenomenal experience.”

The TSSA Fundraising Committee is already making plans for the next campaign, which takes place mainly at the Association’s annual conference to be held on September 27-29, 2015 in San Antonio.
