Palm Springs, CA, February 12, 2015 --(PR.com
)-- Josh Alge (aka SHAG
) is set to unveil his newest hand-pulled serigraph screen print titled The Ensuing Elephant at SHAG the store
in the Palm Springs, California Uptown Design District. The release party is said to feature live music by The Martini Kings. Mid-century modern fanatics, great conversation, eye candy and some amazing SHAG artwork are said to be a hallmark of SHAG events.
This is SHAG the store's fifth year participating during Palm Springs Modernism Week and SHAG has apparently designed some cool retro inspired products (like glassware) specifically for the event. Josh Agle (SHAG) will be appearing that evening to personalize prints and sign merchandise. The Ensuing Elephant print is expected to be quite large at 53” wide x 22” high (when compared with other SHAG prints).
Josh Alge is a California fine artist that resides primarily in Orange County but recently purchased a 2nd mid-century modern home in Palm Springs, California. Mid-century modern architecture and the cocktail culture of the 50’s, 60’s & 70’s have always been central to themes in SHAG art works (think Jetson’s meets James Bond). SHAG has done numerous special anniversary events and prints for Disney Corporation and is the only artist after Isadore “Fritz” Freleng (creator of the animated Pink Panther and the movie title sequences) to redraw the Pink Panther for MGM. Josh Agle has also had solo exhibitions all over the world (including M Modern Gallery
in Palm Springs) and museum exhibitions in the United States.
The event is free & open to the public.
