Washington, DC, May 29, 2015 --(PR.com
)-- For years, everyday Americans have been sidelined while an elite few have controlled the political ads voters see. In fact, The Sunlight Foundation reports that only 0.01 percent of the population controls 28 percent of political discourse in our nation.
That changes today with the launch of Citizen Super PAC.
Citizen Super PAC is the first crowdfunding marketplace where Americans from all walks of life can select and back specific ads for Republican candidates or issues they support or oppose.
“Citizen Super PAC is a game-changer. Nothing like this has ever been seen before,” Ron Steslow, co-founder of Citizen Super PAC said. “We’ve built a technology platform that effectively democratizes the most elite and elusive political institution out there. With Citizen Super PAC, Republicans are being more innovative and democratic than Democrats -- something that is key to winning in 2016 and beyond.”
Chris Gober, co-founder of the platform added: “With Citizen Super PAC, every citizen can influence the political discussion in our nation without a personal fortune and an army of lawyers.”
The process is simple:
-Visit CitizenSuperPAC.com and explore the projects. When you find one or more ads you like, pledge your support to become a backer.
-After your project meets its funding goal, just sit back and watch as it goes directly on the air, and has a real impact in that race.
-The backers will only be charged if the project receives enough support before the deadline.
The platform already has projects in support of Chris Christie, Ben Carson, Rand Paul, Scott Walker. Additional projects supporting other presidential hopefuls, as well as state and local candidates and ballot measures, will be added soon.
“Gone are the days of blindly giving money to a political committee and just hoping they use your money effectively,” Steslow said. “By cutting out the middleman, we finally are empowering people to directly fund the ads they want to see on the air, and creating more transparency in the process.”
According to Gober, “Citizen Super PAC is not your typical super PAC, which traditionally supports a single candidate or slate of candidates who fit a particular ideological profile. Rather, we built a technology platform that allows our spending and activities to be dictated by donors, not by Citizen Super PAC’s founders or a group of consultants.”
While Citizen Super PAC is launching with projects related to the presidential race, it will soon branch out into other political races and issues at the federal, state and local levels of government.
