New York, NY, May 29, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The 2015 IEEE International Conference on Communications (www.ieee-icc.org/2015) will hold its next annual event dedicated to the advancement of communications systems, networks and technologies worldwide from 8-12 June 2015 at the ExCel London Convention Centre in London, UK. Located within London’s Tech City, the fastest growing technology cluster in Europe, and within walking distance of global iconic attractions such as the London Docklands and Canary Wharf, this premier international venue is expected to host thousands of global experts attending nearly 2,000 presentations exploring innovations in nearly every area of the communications spectrum.

Themed “Smart City & Smart World,” IEEE ICC 2015 will begin Monday, June 8 with the first of two full days of tutorials and workshops addressing topics like Device-to-Device Communication for Cellular & Wireless Networks, Greening Cloud Networks, Dynamic SOcial Networks, Small Cell & 5G Networks (SmallNets), Visible Light Communications & Networking and Energy Harvesting & Energy Cooperation in Wireless Communications. Among the many other significant introductions scheduled for the conference’s first day will be the grand opening of the exhibition hall featuring technology leaders such as Qualcomm, Huawei, Nokia, GENBAND, Keysight, InterDigital, P.I. Works, Airvana, SoliD, Imperial College London, DIGILE, Fore-Mont, Anritsu, Artech House, Springer, Cambridge University Press, Willey, EE, National Instruments and Three UK.

The comprehensive educational agenda of IEEE ICC 2015 will then officially commence the following morning with the addresses of Dr. Paul E. Jacobs, Executive Chairman of Qualcomm Incorporated, who will discuss the “Mobile-Powered Future” and the creation of intelligently-connected mobile ecosystems and Professor H. Vincent Poor of Princeton University, who will speak on “Smart Grid: The Role of the Information Sciences” and the integration of renewable energy sources. Other global authorities speaking over the next few days will be:

• Dr. Wen Tong, CTO, Huawei Wireless, who will focus on “5G to Embrace the Vertical Industries” and the evolution of network virtualization and slicing technologies
• Professor Alwyn Seeds of the University College London, who will address “Wireless over Fibre Systems: from MHz to THz” and the enabling of ultra-high capacity wireless data transmissions
• Professor Xiaohu You of Southeast University, who will discuss “5G Mobile Communications in China” and the nation’s strategies for creating massive cooperative cloud radio capabilities
• Professor Lajos Hanzo of the University of Southampton, who will speak on “A Stroll with Shannon to Next-Generation Plaza: Large-Scale MIMOs, Single versus Multiple RF Chains and All That...”
• Dr. Jürgen Schindler, Head of 5G Business Program at Nokia, who will talk about "5G, Expanding The Human Possibilities of Technology”

In addition, Tuesday through Thursday will be highlighted by a wide array of forums, panels, demonstrations and discussions detailing the latest advances in communications technologies and regulatory policy innovations. For instance, Bryn Jones, Chief Technology Officer at Three UK will chair the session titled “How far can we evolve mobile networks - What is next?" During this session, the CTOs from Three, EE, O2, Qualcomm and Huawei will review steps for overcoming data traffic challenges as well as offering insights for achieving higher capacities, more reliable data services and advanced Quality of Service levels.

The event will also be earmarked by nearly 20 panel discussions chaired by representatives of Huawei, Cisco, Ericsson, Microsoft, InterDigital, Samsung, P.I. Works, the European Commission and National Instruments, among others. These authorities will highlight areas ranging from 5G Challenges & Opportunities, Ensuring the Long-Term Sustainability of the Internet and Smart City & Sustainable Ecology to CAP theorem challenges & DevOps approaches, Cellular IoT and Electronic Healthcare, IoT, Telemedicine & Cloud: standards, challenges & opportunities.

For the first time, IEEE ICC 2015 will also offer “Presentations on the Podium” as brief discussions hosted byAnritsu, National Instruments, GENBAND, Keysight, Rohde & Schwarz, Solid Inc., Digile, InterDigital, P.I. Works, Nutaq and Nokia. Dedicated to the introduction of new innovations and technologies, these short vignettes entail Understanding & improving the mobile device user experience, WebRTC un-wiring the communications network, Rapid 5G Systems Protyping, Resolving in-building mobile coverage challenges with DAS, DIGILE IoT Program, oneTRANSPORT: Reshaping the Transport Sector with oneM2M, Next Generation Centralised SON and Looking Ahead to 5G.
