A Cause to Celebrate: OnPoint Manufacturing Donates Singer Sewing Machines to Catholic Charities of Tennessee – Local to Local

Nashville, TN, April 19, 2017 --(PR.com)-- OnPoint Manufacturing, Inc., a Performance HealthCare Products, Inc. company, the leader in on-demand apparel manufacturing, announced today that it is giving back to the local community by donating several Singer sewing machines to Catholic Charities of Tennessee’s Sewing Training Academy.

In a special arrangement with Singer Sewing Machines, OnPoint Manufacturing developed an initiative to foster early sewing programs that give young designers and seamstresses the necessary assistance and tools they need to jump start their careers.

“When I approached Van Tucker at the Nashville Fashion Alliance (NFA) about the possibility of a donation, she immediately thought of the great work that Trishawna Quincy was doing with her sewing program at Catholic Charities of Tennessee,” stated J. Kirby Best, Chairman of OnPoint Manufacturing. "We are pleased to be able to make this type of donation."

“The Sewing Training Academy is thrilled to receive this amazing gift. Not only will the sewing machines enrich the classroom experience, some students who could not otherwise afford machines will get to take one home, giving them an opportunity to sharpen their skills beyond the classroom,” Trishawna Quincy, Coordinator and Instructor of the East Nashville-based Sewing Training Academy, said.

“OnPoint Manufacturing understands the value of skilled commercial sewers and the good work being done at the Sewing Training Academy. Trishawna and her students will be able to put this generous donation to good use, helping individuals learn commercial sewing skills that will lead to job creation opportunities,” stated Van Tucker, CEO of the NFA.
