, the ticketing app allowing ticket holders to “flip” tickets if they leave an event early, announced today the company has hired Ashley Carpenter as Vice President of New Business. Based in Austin, Texas, Carpenter will be working with major North American festivals to integrate the FlipTix technology and to pursue additional live event sectors positioned to benefit from new sales based on the early departure of fans.
Carpenter comes to FlipTix from Front Gate Tickets where she served as the Director of Business Development, negotiating pricing and contractual terms for more than 30 of the largest festivals and live event promoters in North America.
Front Gate Tickets works with premier music festivals including Austin City Limits Music Festival, Bonnaroo, Digital Dreams, Electric Daisy Carnival, Electric Forest Festival, Outside Lands, RBC (Ottawa) Bluesfest and more.
"I am so excited to join the team at FlipTix,” Carpenter says. “I’ve seen firsthand the immense value the product brings to festival and live event promoters and can’t wait to help grow a company I truly believe in."
Using the FlipTix app, ticket holders who exit prior to the end of an event simply provide notice through FlipTix that they have left the venue, and new fans are notified that a Flip is available. Prices are set automatically based on the amount of time remaining (in combination with other variables). Sellers receive remuneration after their ticket is flipped and buyers get a digital ticket delivered directly to their phone for entry or for wristband redemption.
“We started in 2017 after seeing the ticketing industry leaving revenue on the table,” said FlipTix CEO Jaime Siegel. “Our team is thrilled with our accomplishments to this point and adding Ashley’s deeply-rooted festival experience can only improve our awareness and partnership opportunities.”
FlipTix currently works with major festivals including BUKU Music + Art Project, Off The Rails Country Music Festival, KAABOO Del Mar, KAABOO Texas, Sonic Temple and Clusterfest through partnerships with festival promoters AEG Presents, Danny Wimmer Presents and Stage Left Entertainment.
FlipTix is a groundbreaking technology company serving the event ticketing industry. The FlipTix web and mobile apps allow event attendees to “flip” their vacated seats or space to prospective buyers who are outside the venue, creating a tertiary marketplace for concerts, sporting events, multi-day festivals and conferences. FlipTix operates at no cost to the team, promoter or venue and integrates with the existing box office to generate net-new event tickets and boost on-site ancillary sales. The company is headquartered in Orange County, Calif., with operations in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver and Austin.
