$95,000 in Grants Available for Local Educators to Bring Innovative Classroom Projects to Life
San Diego, CA, October 09, 2026 --(PR.com)-- The Cal Coast Cares Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2026 Educator Grant Program, offering local educators funding to create innovative learning experiences that inspire student success and academic achievement. The Foundation will award a total of $95,000 in grants to educators throughout San Diego and Riverside counties.

Grants ranging from $500 to $2,500 are available to educators serving K-12 public, private, and charter schools, as well as community colleges, state colleges, and universities. Funding supports classroom projects focused on Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STREAM). Applications will be accepted through October 18, 2026.

Across the region, educators routinely reach into their own pockets to fund projects that enrich student learning. The Cal Coast Cares Foundation's Educator Grant Program helps bridge that gap by providing resources for creative, hands-on initiatives that may otherwise go unfunded.

“Great teachers spark curiosity, build confidence, and open doors to future opportunities, but too often they do so with limited resources,” said Torrey Albertazzi, Director of the Cal Coast Cares Foundation. “These grants are an investment not only in educators, but in the students and communities they serve. We are proud to support innovative classroom experiences that ignite imagination, encourage problem-solving, and help students develop the skills they need to thrive.

Previous grant recipient Sarah Hillard, an8th grade teacher at Millennial Tech Middle School, said, “Receiving this grant provides the resources needed to enhance hands-on learning, foster innovation, and inspire the next generation of engineers and entrepreneurs. This grant will enable us to explore innovative drone technologies while empowering students to create their own businesses.”

Established in 2015 by California Coast Credit Union, the Cal Coast Cares Foundation is dedicated to strengthening local communities through scholarships and educator grants. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded more than $1.8 million in scholarships and grants to support educational achievement and opportunity.
