Houston, TX, April 23, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Endeavor for Hope Foundation (“The EFHF”), a Houston-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity, was successful in raising enough money for their “Textbook Drop” project to ship brand new textbooks to the Community Secondary School in Umuokpu village, a rural community of 12,000 people located in Anambra State in southeastern Nigeria.

To achieve this goal, on March 20, 2009, The EFHF hosted a V.I.P. Pre-Concert Charity Bash at the Hotel Icon in downtown Houston for the Pete Tong/Deadmau5 concert. Friends and supporters of The EFHF danced to the music of Houston DJs Benzo, Esteban Torres and Amanda Robinson together with professional dancers the Go!Go! Gadgettes!. Attendees also enjoyed a live painting by Micah the Artist as well as a very special performance by the Ugobueze Igbo Dance Troupe who entertained with a dance typical of the region of Nigeria that will benefit from The EFHF.

World-renowned DJs and music producers, Pete Tong and Deadmau5 made personal appearances to show their support for The EFHF and the charity’s dedication to promoting access to education in sub-Saharan Africa.

A silent auction was also held where attendees bid on exclusive items donated by local businesses including the Houston Grand Opera, the Ensemble Theatre, Hotel Icon, the Houstonian Hotel & Spa, FIT Athletic Club of River Oaks, Lot 8 Boutique and Salon, David Michael Salon, Canyon Café and Catalan Food & Wine Restaurant as well as works by artists Alvaro Daza, Henry Membreno, Tim Gonzalez, Micah the Artist, prize-winning author Chimamanda Adichie, and more.

The event was photographed by renowned Houston photographer Sarah Lipscomb. Images of the event are available on the charity’s website, WWW.EFHF.ORG.

The EFHF surpassed its goal of raising $5,000. All monies raised will go directly towards the “Textbook Drop” project and The EFHF’s operating expenses.
